GRB Watchdogging of Climate Change Financing Training for CSOs in Tirana

From 13th to 15th of November GRB Watchdogging of Climate Change Financing Training for CSOs took place in Tirana, Albania.

Main aims of the Training course were:

  • Raising awareness of gender-responsive budgeting and its role in climate change financing.
  • Examining international commitments on gender and climate, with insights on regional progress and opportunities for CSO involvement.
  • Practical tools for monitoring climate financing from a gender perspective at local, national, and regional levels.
  • Sharing the methods for effective advocacy, project development, and resource allocation to enhance gender equality in climate action.

Over the three days, the participants had valuable discussions and presented meaningful insights about the intersection of climate finance and gender equality, equipping civil society organizations with essential tools for impactful advocacy and action.

Key Outcomes:

  • Participants now have practical knowledge to assess climate finance allocations through a gender lens;
  • We strengthened connections among CSOs committed to climate justice, fostering a network of advocates who will hold decision-makers accountable;
  • CSOs gained tools for monitoring, tracking, and advocating for gender-inclusive climate financing at the local, national, and regional levels.
