GBWN Annual Meeting took place from 9th to 11th of December in Veles, Macedonia. We reached several key milestones shaping our network’s future. We began by highlighting our collective achievements and achieved milestones, further the network members could develop their knowledge in the fields of communication and advocacy.
A major discussion point was the voting on removal of the regional limitations and therefore changes in our Statute from regional to global network, allowing GBWN to expand its reach and influence worldwide. Additionally, we adopted a comprehensive long-term strategy through 2030, setting a clear vision for sustainable growth and enhanced advocacy efforts. In addition, we discussed for result-oriented activities for improving advocacy and outreach by framing messages for policymakers, media, and the public to elevate Gender Responsive Budgeting impact. Usage of AI and digital advocacy platforms, was also covered, equipping our members with the skills needed to amplify their GRB initiatives effectively.
The Annual Meeting was concluded with impactful sessions and group workshops which enabled the network’s members to evaluate the current achievements, share best practices, expectations as network members and define actionable goals for the future. These sessions not only enhanced network’s technical capabilities, but also fostered deeper connections among our community, ensuring that the strategies developed during this meeting will drive our mission to promote gender equality through informed and strategic budgeting practices.
