Join our global movement calling for better EU budgeting towards gender equality!

Together with 100+ civil society organisations and experts, Gender Budget Watchdog Network is calling on the European Commission, Parliament, and Council to ensure that the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the EU budget, contribute to gender equality!

The new MFF must:
✅ Include a clear target for financing gender equality
✅ Require gender-responsive budgeting in all EU-funded programmes
✅ Call for improved monitoring, evaluation, and transparency of results

Why this matters?
Gender equality is a fundamental value and right.
It’s a smart investment in increased GDP, development, and security.

HERE is the consortium suggestion you can adapt to your needs:

Dear …:
We are writing on behalf of more than 200 civil society organisations and experts across Europe and beyond to ask the European Commission to ensure that the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) contributes to gender equality and women’s rights.
We ask that the new MFF must:
✅ Include a clear target for financing for gender equality and women’s rights
✅ Require comprehensive Gender Budgeting in all EU-funded programmes
✅ Call for improved monitoring, evaluation, and transparency of gender equality results
Why does this matter?

⚖️ Gender equality is a fundamental value and right. Now more than ever the EU needs to show its commitment to this value and to Treaty obligations.
📈 Evidence illustrates that it’s a sustainable investment in increased GDP, employment, development, and in building a secure Europe.
Please find attached recommendations within a policy brief that we have endorsed calling for your urgent action to ensure the new MFF includes these.
Sincerely,
