WHAT IS GENDER RESPONSIVE BUDGETING?

Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a strategy that focuses on integrating a gender perspective in government planning and budgeting. It aims to incorporate a perspective on how to improve equality between women and men based on a gender analysis in every stage of planning, programming, and execution of government budgets. Thus, it should not be seen as an additional budget, but as a way of doing better planning and budgeting based on more specific evidence regarding men and women as beneficiaries of policies and budgets.

Trainers

Marija Risteska with 20 years of experience in the field of gender equality and gender-responsive budgeting (GRB), covers modules on the basic concepts of gender equality and GRB, best practices, public policy monitoring regarding gender mainstreaming and development of comprehensive reports.

Riste Jurukovski holds a Master's degree in Economics. He is specialized in public policy analysis and regulatory impact assessment, as well as feasibility studies. Riste is in charge of the modules related to budget execution, gender revenue and expenditure planning from gender perspective.

Mirela Arqimandriti is a passionate activist and human rights defender. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Sheffield University in the UK. Mirela is responsible for transferring knowledge related to gender equality concepts.

Slavica Striković has graduated with a degree from the Electro- technical faculty on University of Montenegro and holds MA on Gender Studies, from the Faculty of Humanities, University of Donja Gorica. Slavica covers the module that refers to the gender expenditures analysis.

Natalia Vozian is an experienced and multilingual Public Policy and Gender Consultant. In the last 9 years, she has worked across multiple projects and gender equality consultancy areas, including EVAW, GRB and GM in leading global companies and UN organizations.
