From 10th to 13th of June, 2025 the Gender Budget Watchdog Network (GBWN) coordinators gathered in Chișinău, Moldova, to strengthen regional coordination around advocacy and communication across the Western Balkans and Moldova.
During the meeting, we reviewed and fine-tuned the GBWN Communication Strategy to ensure full alignment with the Project Document, Network Development Strategy, and Advocacy Plan. Key outcomes of our working sessions included agreement on the PEFA campaign strategy, finalization of the Transport Advocacy Plan, review of the overall Advocacy Plan, and launching the process of collecting impact stories from our sub-grantees and other network members. These stories will showcase the real-life effects of our work and strengthen the evidence base for change.
A current milestone in our efforts is the push for inclusive, transparent, and climate-conscious budgeting and transport policies. To highlight our commitment to sustainable mobility and gender-inclusive public policies, our team also took a symbolic bike ride along the peaceful shores of Valea Morilor Lake in Chișinău—highlighting our commitment to sustainable and inclusive transport systems that work for everyone.
United by a common goal, our network continues to amplify its efforts to ensure that gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) becomes an integral part of public financial management systems.
