Through their groundbreaking research on integrating a gender perspective into Kosovo\u2019s circular economy and agricultural strategies, EcoKos identified gaps in bio-economy initiatives and pushed for more inclusive policies. Their advocacy has also ensured the continued provision of sanitary pads in schools and public institutions in Obiliq, Pristina, and Fush\u00eb Kosova through 2025, addressing a critical need that keeps girls in school. Addressing barriers women face in land, finance, and decision-making is key to building a more inclusive and sustainable agriculture sector.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"748\"><strong data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"748\">Key Activities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4 data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"780\">1. <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"780\">Advocacy Meetings and Capacity Building:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"974\">Three meetings held with municipal representatives in Pristina, Fush\u00eb Kosova, and Obiliq to introduce gender impact assessment tools and promote gender-responsive budgeting (GRB).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1108\">The Deputy Mayor of Pristina expressed readiness to allocate municipal funds for menstrual hygiene products in schools by 2025.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1111\" data-end=\"1217\">The Deputy Mayor of Obiliq committed to a dedicated budget line for menstrual pads in primary schools.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1331\">Data from these meetings informed the design of infographics shared as part of a public GRB awareness campaign.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1545\">Organized a training session on <strong data-start=\"1398\" data-end=\"1418\">circular economy<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1441\">energy efficiency<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1493\">women\u2019s engagement in environmental policy<\/strong>, <strong>attended by 12 women in agriculture from Pristina.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1548\" data-end=\"1651\">A circular economy expert was hired to deliver content tailored to rural women\u2019s sustainable practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1986\" data-end=\"2006\"><strong data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2006\">Key Results:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2145\">Training Outcomes: 12 women trained in circular economy, energy-saving techniques, and civic participation in environmental policy.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2149\" data-end=\"2243\">Public Awareness: 343 people (206 men, 137 women) were sensitized on GRB through outreach.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2247\" data-end=\"2366\">Policy Impact: Municipal officials, including deputy mayors, committed to budgeting for menstrual hygiene products.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2370\" data-end=\"2479\">Public Education: Infographics reached broad audiences online, explaining what GRB is and why it matters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2486\" data-end=\"2529\">The project helped women farmers understand and apply <strong data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2617\">circular economy principles<\/strong>, including resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable agricultural practices. It strengthened their capacity to participate in <strong data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2781\">local policy-making<\/strong>, especially in the fields of climate, food, and energy.
